Melissa has been involved in the disabilities community her whole life while volunteering and helping to care for her brother Josh. She has professionally been in the field for 8 years. Melissa has B.A. in Communications and currently serves on the Board of Directors for ARRM. She also co-chairs the Work Force Committee at ARRM. Melissa has previously served on the Board of Directors for Arc MN. Melissa’s greatest joy is her love of the VIP’s – they make her work so rewarding. Melissa’s favorite song is “Skinny Love” by Bon Iver!
Melanie has been in the field her entire life as a sister to Josh and through volunteering. Professionally, Melanie has been in the field for 15 years working in special education and counseling. Melanie has a B.S. in Psychology and M.A. in Counseling Psychology. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Each time Melanie hangs out with the JP VIP’s, she is re-energized to continue living the mission. Melanie’s favorite song by far is “Every Other Freckle” by alt-J!
Jonas has 15 years of experience in the business operations field. He has followed Josh’s Place from day one; especially as Josh’s brother in law. Jonas is Six-Sigma Certified and holds a B.S degree from The Danish Academy of Business and Technology in Denmark (he made a LONG trip to Minnesota!) It gives Jonas tremendous joy to give our Superstars the best tools and environment to enhance the life of our VIP’s. His favorite song is “Numb” by Linkin Park.
Director of Services
Jen has worked in the field for 23 years. She has a M.S. in Counseling Psychology and is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. Jen feels it’s incredibly rewarding to know that the core of her job is to truly help someone live their best life! Jen has too many favorite songs to narrow down to just one, but she loves “I am Here by” P!nk, and “Annie’s Song” by John Denver.
Megan has been in the field for about 18 years. She has worked in direct care, program supervision, human resources and education/training. Megan has a B.A. in Psychology and completed the Leading Age MN Leadership Academy in 2015. She loves getting to be a part of an organization that truly believes in creating a wonderful environment for the VIP’s JP supports. Megan believes everyone at JP is driven by the mission to honor Josh’s memory and to support our VIPs to reach their full potential. She had a hard time pinning down a favorite song, but would gladly perform karaoke with anyone who asks!
Designated Manager for Brainerd Region
Kiri has been in the field for 14 years and six of these years have in a supervisory role. Kiri started in direct care and has worked her way to a Designated Manager position! Kiri feels Josh’s Place has given her the opportunity to grow her skills in the field and to shine and continue to develop; while supporting the VIP’s and Superstars! Kiri can often be found humming along to any song by Justin Bieber or country jam.
Designated Manager for Walker Region
Tricia has worked in the field for six years. She has a B.S. in Psychology and an A.A.S Degree in Architectural Technology and Design. Tricia expresses that knowing she makes a difference and understanding the responsibility of making social change for vulnerable adults in the community are many of the things she enjoys most. Tricia is a hands-on leader who actively listens and is creative in her approach. Tricia’s favorite song is Weezer “Island in Sun.”
Laurie is within her first year at Josh’s Place! She has nearly 20 years of accounting experience and she is passionate about really understanding each JP locations structure to best support in her role. Laurie also enjoys volunteering and has done so at The Humane Society and People Serving People. Her favorite song of the moment is, “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran!

Designated Coordinator at West Oakes
Jana has been in the field for 20 years and has been at the West Oakes since it became a Josh’s Place location in 2016. Jana is a Certified Nursing Assistant. She loves the young women that she works with and enjoys watching them achieve both big and small goals every day. Jana enjoys working for Josh’s Place because she has the opportunity to grow and most important, they believe in their employees. Jana’s favorite songs is “In My Daughters Eyes” by Martina McBride.
Kate Read and Kelly Olson
Kate and Kelly have both worked and been involved with the women of Sunrise home for decades! They are lucky enough to have worked with the women long enough that they feel they are specially certified in working specifically with them. They love being able to help the 4 women of Sunrise to live their lives to the fullest every day. They truly believe they are lucky to get to be a part of their lives every day. They can karaoke with the best of them – especially to 80’s jams!
Designated Coordinator at N Street
Sarah has worked in the field for five years. She has the ability to make any environment feel warm and welcoming. Sarah cares so much about the individuals and leads the team to provide incredibly thorough (and fun!) care. She enjoys working at Josh’s Place because of the opportunities provided to the VIPs and Superstars. Sarah and her team always have 90’s jams rockin’ at the home!
Onsite Supervisor at Nova
Taylor has worked in the field for two years. Her favorite part about being at Nova House is the connection she has with the young women she supports along with how she’s able to see them grow. Taylor is often described as a reliable leader and really fun! She brings a huge smile and positive energy to work every day. This has translated into building rapport with the teams she works with. Her favorite song is “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran.
Designated Coordinator at Lynndale
Cindy has worked with the individuals at Lynndale for almost 40 years and continued on when Josh’s Place transitioned! She is an LPN and utilizes those skills every day while working with individuals who are medically fragile. Her knowledge of the individuals and can spot any signs of medical issues that may be arising. Cindy is a travel buff so can be inspired by any song about travel!

Tessa has been in the field for over five years. She is a Certified Medical Assistant and has her Qualified Medication Administration Personal certificate. Tessa loves that everyday there is something new, exciting, meaningful and special in her role. She feels that Josh’s Place has a passion to provide outstanding care to the VIP’s and to support the staff that serve them and that’s what she loves about being a part of the JP team. Tessa’s favorite songs are “Lights” by Journey and “For Your Precious Love” by Otis Redding.

Onsite Supervisor at Hillcrest
Danica has been at Josh’s Place for over two years. She began in direct care, then promoted to a lead and most recently was promoted to Onsite Supervisor! Danica enjoys building relationships with the women of her home and can often be seen helping problem solve everyday issues with the VIP’s and building skills for greater independence. Danica loves all kinds of music!

Bree has worked in the field for seven years! She has been with Josh’s Place since 2014 and too has been promoted from direct care, to lead and now as a Designated Coordinator! The people Bree supervises would describe her having a kind heart and being a reliable leader of Bayview. Bree’s favorite song is Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve.
